Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Humanity Calls values you and respects your privacy. We collect information to support our relationship with you, improve our services, and communicate about promotions or special services. Humanity Calls recognizes that we must maintain and use information responsibly.
Humanity Calls adheres to the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Access and Enforcement.
This policy describes what personal information we collect and how we use it. You can always find the most current version of our privacy policy at www.HumanityCalls.org/privacypol.html.
We collect information when you visit our website, create an account, edit your account information, or donate to nonprofits. Some of this information is technical information that is automatically logged by our servers.
Humanity Calls may provide this information to nonprofits to which you donate to through Humanity Calls.
Creating a Humanity Calls Account
When you create an account on our website, we collect basic information about you, such as your name and email address.
Individuals are not permitted to register multiple times as themselves or to impersonate others. Humanity Calls reserves the right to remove from the website any user who violates these terms of use.
When you make an online donation on Humanity Calls, we collect personal information such as your name, billing address, and email address, if you have not already provided these details. We collect information about your donation, including the nonprofits you are donating to and the amount of your donation. We also collect (but do not retain) credit card numbers which are processed by a third-party payment vendor subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. If you use PayPal or a similar service, their use of your information is based on their terms of service and policies, not ours, so we encourage you to review those policies carefully.
If you are donating by credit card, your
donation will appear as Humanity Calls on your credit card statement.
That's because your donation is to Humanity Calls, which will
re-grant your donation to the nonprofit(s) you designated or to the
nonprofits selected, proportionate to votes received, by the Humanity
Calls community. As required by the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS"),
Humanity Calls has exclusive legal control over the donation. In the
rare event that a nonprofit you have designated or that is selected
by the Humanity Calls community does not satisfy Humanity Calls
criteria for receiving donations (i.e., it has been classified by the
IRS as a disqualified supporting organization, it cannot or does not
accept donations, is not recognized by the IRS as a public charity,
or is not in good standing with federal and state regulators),
Humanity Calls will select an alternate nonprofit to receive your
donation funds.
Contests, Promotions, and Surveys
Periodically, Humanity Calls may invite you to participate in contests, take advantage of special promotions, and complete online surveys. If you have created a Humanity Calls account or profile, information we collect from these contests, promotions, and surveys may be associated with you personally.
Technical Information
Like most websites, our servers automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our site, including your Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your visit, the referring URL, and, if you have visited our Site before, one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. We also collect information about your activities on the site, such as the pages you access.

You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some website features or services may not function properly without cookies.
Humanity Calls uses the personal information that you provide, and the technical information logged by our servers to process your donations, to:
deliver the notifications described above;

If Humanity Calls merges with, or becomes an affiliate of another organization, we will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions and provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Aside from the purposes described above, we will not disclose your personal information without your consent, unless: (1) we need to respond to a subpoena, court order or legal process; (2) an emergency situation requires disclosure before your permission can be obtained (e.g., situations involving potential threats to personal safety), or; (3) we determine that disclosure is needed to protect our rights or property, or the rights or property of another person.
